When the sky's out of blue come an' tell me somethin' I'll die and so will you so come an' tell me somethin' If the stories are true come an' tell me somethin' There's nothin' you can do so come an' tell me somethin' When the clouds make a boom come an' tell me somethin' It ain't now, but it's soon so come an' tell me somethin' I've got noone but you so come an' tell me somethin' 'fore the bombs hit the roof come an' tell me somethin'

Lemonquest 09:18
The one horned beast bays at my approach. It's true form now revealed. The meadow reeks of citrus and the collective piss of years alone. The lemon is denied me. It golden hue I'm not to eye taste. If I were warmer, maybe not. But my saddle's made of pine trees and my veins are tied in nooses. Where did I go wrong? What fluid does it need. It's penis sways. like a dead man. like a fish. flopping. as if it were a creature itself. Oh great one horned two eyed three winged four legged Five!!!!! Oh great one horned two eyed three winged four legged horse. It wishes for my friendship. but I do knot a tie. that's not how you wear it. I know. My nakedness apparent by the shape between my thighs. It's the only way to be honest now a days. It stamps upon the ground with a soft squelching noise. spraying bile from it's hairs It says "I know your name" I do too I say. What a wonderful landscape it is that you protect. Two bats sit on an' ought to talk more. Now stop seducing my brother from the past he's much too easily amused. Oh great one horned two eyed three winged four legged Five!!!!! Oh great one horned two eyed three winged four legged horse. If I were born a girly maybe it would be mine. but I was not asked my preference. I was not given a dollie. This is my pony now. It's bought two bees dead. and kept them alive here for more years than I've lived. I'm afraid to see what they've become. big and gold like the fruit that I seek. Mike the boot said I'm bleak. It hurts me. like the horn in my abdomen. the boys will all starve now, once the lady's milk dries up. Oh great one horned two eyed three winged four legged Five!!!!! Oh great one horned two eyed three winged four legged horse. Oh great one horned two eyed three winged four legged Five!!!!! Oh great one horned two eyed three winged four legged horse.

when I was back in Mississippi where I was born and raised I met a young tadpole she'd been swimmin' upstream for days she said "If you can find the secret to gettin' me some legs I'll go out on a date with you, and maybe you'll get laid" so I went on a quest I went on a quest for rewards of a carnal nature when I got down to Alabama where I was born and raised I asked around the town and everyone just ran away they said "the secrets or the frogies, secrets they will stay" and they chased me out of town and into the next state I was still on a quest I was still on a quest for rewards of a carnal nature when I got to Pennsylvania where I was born and raised I found an old frog turned out he was an ancient sage he said "I've deciphered the secrets of gettin' tadpoles legs. Turns out they will matutre if they just wait a few more days" so I finished my quest I finished my quest for rewards of a carnal nature but when I got back to Mississippi where I was born and raised I'd been away too long and her whole body had changed and when I looked at all the frogs I couldn't find her face I figured out the secret but I'm got gettin' laid I failed my quest and I never got my rewards of a carnal nature

Blackening the sky! Blackening the sky! It happens every night! Happens every night! my mother told me I had no reason to be afraid but when the sun dissapears I can only feel my rage! at the viscious blatant lies that make my home into a cage Blackening the sky! Blackening the sky! It happens every night! Happens every night! the rest of the world looks on as if it were normal but the sun leaves us! maybe it doesn't like us very much. we must appease it's hunger or we will be left in the cold. we must offer it a feast of mushed cornbread and gold or it's horrifying rays will turn us all old! the sicknesses will be cured and the warmth of the world will return if the sun is pleased with our gift is the gun sneezed on our ship? no! kick the crackalackers backwards to the show! they must distill all the wine and make it safe to consume lest the beautiful women drink it and have a somewhat unpleasant taste in their mouths! Blackening the sky! Blackening the sky! It happens every night! Happens every night! when the sun returns to us we've all got to hide! and when it's fully risen past the horizon we all jump out and say "surprise!" the sun will be so happy that we remembered it's birthday it will never want to leave us ever again. an eternal noon will tan all of our skin! the winter will stop coming and the fish will be our friends! Sometimes the sun is shine! Blackening the sky! Blackening the sky! It happens every night! Happens every night! The sun rises again everybody here are friends if the sun starts to descend I'm afraid this might be the end All the world sings with me from the mountains to the sea only absurd hyperbole can describe the sun's beauty Behold the eternal noon come to save us from certain doom the ancient prophets knew our time on earth is through

about

This album was built around the song Lemonquest. It represents the concept of the album as a whole. My inspiration was a meeting of the experimental, strange, and silly blues music of Captain Beefheart, & the chaotic, cluttered free jazz of Peter Brotzmann. The songs were recorded over the course of a year, & a half or so. At the time of recording, a lot of my inspiration for the drums was the nuts jazz informed drumming of the Japanese punk band, Midori. But during the production, and mixing phase, I tried to make the drums sound like an early Number Girl record. As a result, the drums often dominate the mix, and drive the other instruments through the twists and turns of each song. Each song was recorded a few months apart from each other, so each kinda represent a different take on the same core idea. I think the albums comes together as a diverse, and somewhat difficult listen overall. And I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. But what do I know...

Thanks for giving me a listen.
